Currently represented by MSA Agency, Sequoia Aya is a New York City based dancer and model. Growing up in Brooklyn with artists for parents, she was naturally surrounded by various art forms. At a young age, dance took the lead and she was enrolled in various dance programs as she grew older.

Sequoia started at Restoration Youth Arts Academy in Bed-Stuy. This was followed by LaGuardia Arts High School, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and finally the Fordham/Ailey program where she graduated from in 2020 with a BFA in Dance.

Growing up as an introvert, Aya’s voice was — and still is — movement itself. Through dance, she discovered the exhilaration from being in front of an audience and giving them a range of emotions spanning from vulnerable to downright fierce. There is something about the unspoken relationship that occurs between the stage and the audience which causes Sequoia to drop the walls and fully share herself .

Already immersed in a world of art, Aya came to appreciate fashion and embodied her own style to document through photos. This evolved into the formation of a model portfolio to explore different avenues of herself in front of the camera. Through these endeavors, Sequoia continues to grow and bloom. She has danced for Royal Caribbean as well as the international artist, Akini Jing.
